Cloverfield
Let's see. Die here, die in the tunnels... oh look. Seems like it's another movie about destroying my city.
Do I ever hate that! I even turn off disasters on SimCity!
Honestly, why don't they try Walla Walla for a change? Be creative! Be novel! Besides, I've heard that it's the place people enjoy so much, they decided to name it more than once. Or... something like that, anyway.

Date: 2008-01-12 06:49 pm (UTC)Imagining being hemmed in by other people's dwellings on all sides, without any land or trees of your own, no stars at night (city lights), no clean rainwater, no @#$%! privacy because you can't swing a cat without hitting a neighbor or passerby....just no. It's as bad as the flatlands in eastern washington. (I grew up amid hills and forests. Being able to see the horizon all around gives me the willies.)

Or it has to do with the fact that it is cheap as all hell to shoot footage there.. there is a lot of pre-shot footage that can be /re/-used... and other cities like Chicago are expensive to make shows of.
Besides... why would they want to put this show in some random city without high buildings? Or very little of them? Can't hide things behind them that way.
