I suppose it depends what you are tracking, though. For me, it's physical presence for immigration so if I spend even 1 minute of the day in Canada, it is a "day" of presence.

When I worked in the office, I would cross out the day or draw something in the day's square, after finishing work and before leaving. It was a nice little "that day of work is done" feeling.
When I started occasionally working from home, a squiggly line meant I'd been in the office and a flat line (applied when I got back) meant I hadn't been in the office that day.
On my calendars at home, I would only cross the day out after it was over, ie. the next day. But in practice I don't cross days out anymore.

I answered "at the end of that day" but the ACTUAL answer is "the start of the next day". (Why on earth would anyone cross off TOMORROW, ever?)
