When do you comment on other people's journals?

Honest curiosity here.

I try to comment only when I have something interesting to say. Or when I'm so overwhelmed by their brilliance that I'm completely incoherent. Or, sometimes, when their husband/grandmother/fish has died and I think they consider me to be close enough a friend that my commenting won't be an intrusion, then I leave a vague comfort-type comment.

No other reasons, really.

The T on this keyboard is broken. I wonder if we have another keyboard lying around which I can hook up to this computer....

I comment when... I have a comment? Heh. No really, I comment when I have a question, an answer to a question or just generally have something to share related to the post. I hardly ever leave posts just to say congrats, sorry, offer condolences or whatever simply because... I don't know. They feel hollow to me. If I care enough about the original poster, I'll probably talk to them about it on IM or something instead.

That too for me, and also if I need to get that person on AIM/Yahoo etc for another reason or if I have something for them.
