Somebody point out the flaws mihi and explain this clearly. Thanks.

Edit: The worst argument against a conspiracy theory:

Well, if it wasn't Flight 77, what happened to Flight 77?

Let's assume there's a conspiracy.

Now, are you telling me that this conspiracy couldn't create a flight 77 where none had been? Don't you remember that they originally thought as many as 8 planes had been hijacked? Don't you remember that the original death toll was much higher, as people tried to claim nonexistant family members as dead? It would be almost easy to go into the computers, add records for a nonexistant flight, and pay off people to cry about their poor dead family members. I mean, shit, this is a conspiracy, right? You think they couldn't do a little thing like that? Huh.

Now, I doubt there is a conspiracy. I don't think one of this scale could practically be carried out (too many people would have to keep quiet), and I don't think the Shrubboy is that smart. But if you believe in conspiracies, you have to disbelieve my two objections, in which case I should hope that the conspirators are smart enough to find a few more people who can keep quiet.

A friend of mine has another theory about what happened, which is far fetched, but interesting.

You'll remember on 9/11 there was an order for all planes to be grounded in X amount of time or they will be considered hostile and shot out of the sky.

He suspects that Flight 77 didn't get down in time, was shot down, and rather than saying that they shot down civilians in a plane that may have been a threat or may just not have been able to find a landing stip, they popped a hole in the building.

Here's another thing that interested me. The ground outside the pentagon. When I was little, my mom worked for Eastern Airlines (remember them?). She would get dockets about crashes and I would go in her briefcase and look at the pictures (yes, I was a very morbid child).

Airplane crashes are, literally, far reaching catastrophies. Ground is scorched for a mile. Everything is PITCH black. The planes, even when crashing into things, are generally intact enough to leave some horrible images behind.

That ground is perfect. Not even a scorch from the jets.

Then again, I've only ever seen a few images from the pentagon strike. As opposed to the 973427427834298734298 from the WTC.

Are you talking about the one that crashed in Somerset? That's about an hour or so away from me. I didn't even hear that a plane went down there until about 3 hours afterwards, and our local media is pretty good.

That also struck me as odd. After we got evacuated I went down to the coffee shop with a few of my friends and listened to the news. For five hours. How I found out about the crash? My mom called one of my friend's phones after getting no answer at my apartment to ask me what section of pittsburgh the plane crashed in and if I was okay. I was like "Uhm, no plane crashed into pittsburgh...I'm drinking coffee across the street from the museum"

Apparently the media outside of here was saying a plane crashed into pittsburgh. Which makes some sense, because we were the nearest big city. But why the hell didn't we hear about it?
