Somebody point out the flaws mihi and explain this clearly. Thanks.

Edit: The worst argument against a conspiracy theory:

Well, if it wasn't Flight 77, what happened to Flight 77?

Let's assume there's a conspiracy.

Now, are you telling me that this conspiracy couldn't create a flight 77 where none had been? Don't you remember that they originally thought as many as 8 planes had been hijacked? Don't you remember that the original death toll was much higher, as people tried to claim nonexistant family members as dead? It would be almost easy to go into the computers, add records for a nonexistant flight, and pay off people to cry about their poor dead family members. I mean, shit, this is a conspiracy, right? You think they couldn't do a little thing like that? Huh.

Now, I doubt there is a conspiracy. I don't think one of this scale could practically be carried out (too many people would have to keep quiet), and I don't think the Shrubboy is that smart. But if you believe in conspiracies, you have to disbelieve my two objections, in which case I should hope that the conspirators are smart enough to find a few more people who can keep quiet.

I don't know, that's pretty disturbing.

I guess I would say that there is no plausible explanation--the pentagon hit has never been considered a major part of 9/11--it's all abou tNYC. So unless the WTC was orchestrated too, which I've heard, why hit the Pentagon? What is their thesis, instead of pointing out flaws in the investigation?

Why are you assuming that? I mean, I'm not a conspiracy junkie but the idea of it being orchestrated would be no surprise to me. It's the best thing that ever happened to GWB.

I think Bush has a lot of smart people on his team.

I think you can orchestrate something that appears genuine enough to bring in all the necessary folk who DO believe it is real. I.E. You don't need to involve the press or FEMA, just make it look good enough that they'll buy it.

Perhaps so--or at least to claim one does. I'll believe whatever I damn well please in the privacy of my own head. And I do definitely think there are many things we aren't being told--why else refuse to create commissions or release reports?

I didn't bother to watch the whole thing, but snopes.com has a pretty good debunking of similar stuff here.

That thing creeps the fuck out of me, because after watching it I looked into some of the stuff they were alledging, and it all came up to the same conclusions they did. Also, the plane in the picture, not big enough to be a boeing 747, unless there was something really weird going on with the picture.

Oh, I had forgotten about the snopes article linked above. It explains a lot, but still the size seemed really off to me.

I just spent waaaaaaay too much time hunting up the commentary on [livejournal.com profile] theferrett's site when he posted this link (http://www.livejournal.com/users/theferrett/362766.html), back in September. I thought you'd be interested to read it, and frankly hunting it up took less time than debunking it would have.

A friend of mine has another theory about what happened, which is far fetched, but interesting.

You'll remember on 9/11 there was an order for all planes to be grounded in X amount of time or they will be considered hostile and shot out of the sky.

He suspects that Flight 77 didn't get down in time, was shot down, and rather than saying that they shot down civilians in a plane that may have been a threat or may just not have been able to find a landing stip, they popped a hole in the building.

Here's another thing that interested me. The ground outside the pentagon. When I was little, my mom worked for Eastern Airlines (remember them?). She would get dockets about crashes and I would go in her briefcase and look at the pictures (yes, I was a very morbid child).

Airplane crashes are, literally, far reaching catastrophies. Ground is scorched for a mile. Everything is PITCH black. The planes, even when crashing into things, are generally intact enough to leave some horrible images behind.

That ground is perfect. Not even a scorch from the jets.

Then again, I've only ever seen a few images from the pentagon strike. As opposed to the 973427427834298734298 from the WTC.

Are you talking about the one that crashed in Somerset? That's about an hour or so away from me. I didn't even hear that a plane went down there until about 3 hours afterwards, and our local media is pretty good.

That also struck me as odd. After we got evacuated I went down to the coffee shop with a few of my friends and listened to the news. For five hours. How I found out about the crash? My mom called one of my friend's phones after getting no answer at my apartment to ask me what section of pittsburgh the plane crashed in and if I was okay. I was like "Uhm, no plane crashed into pittsburgh...I'm drinking coffee across the street from the museum"

Apparently the media outside of here was saying a plane crashed into pittsburgh. Which makes some sense, because we were the nearest big city. But why the hell didn't we hear about it?

How disturbing. Either way, whether it's true or not.

Hmmmm... *spins more conspiracy theories* it was half a conspiracy! The Pentagon thing was planned, and the WTC thing just happened to happen on the same day, conveniently. Thus, the Pentagon impact was later... considered less important in the public mind, because of the much highter death rate at the WTC and all.

And of course we mustn't forget that Bin Laden was originally trained by the US.
Also, that he didn't right away say "Yep, I did it", which is unusual for an attack like this, but only after a few days. When he realized that no one else was going to claim responsibility?

Ok. Nonsense. I shup up now.

There's just too many things wrong with ALL the events of 9/11. We can't know what really did happen, but it's patently obvious that the "official story" we've been fed is a crock of shit.

Here are some more interesting points to ponder (http://free.freespeech.org/americanstateterrorism/9-11/Operation911.html).

GWB doesn't necessarily know anything about all this. The CIA has everything they'd need to pull it off, with or without the collaboration of Mossad.

Y'know, the thing I really wonder about is the "Beheading of Nick Berg" video. It was so patently fake that it made "Alien Autopsy" look convincing by comparison, and it occurred to me: maybe it was just a little TOO fake. I mean, really, a high-school film-making class would have done a better job, and the fact that the film starts out with "Nick Berg" in an orange Abu Ghraib uniform, sitting in a white Abu Ghraib chair - how dumb are we expected to believe the film-makers were?

Again, the only thing we know for sure is that the "official story" we were told to believe is a crock of shit. It doesn't matter who says so, though. The answer to any and all objections is "conspiracy theory", which basically means "don't listen to the crazy person."
