The etymology is pretty boring after all that, I have to say: From Old French bezahar/bezoard, from Arabic bazahr, from Persian padzahr (antidote), from pad- (protector) + zahr (poison). Earliest documented use: 1597. (I feel I should issue a spoiler warning for the illustrative quote, which refers back to Half-Blood Prince.)

I think what I felt about them had a lot to do with what I felt about their final conundrum and solution, both of which I felt were a bit simplistic.

But let's focus on the good things of the past... oh, let's say three or four episodes.

I like these!

But I don't like the series nearly enough to get a whole second set just for the covers. It's very heteronormative, and everybody gets paired up very neatly, very fast. Still, it's fun enough. The covers are very tempting.
