News from the Camp X-Ray.

Because I can't spell Guatanamoam properly.

I'm torn, so torn between "crap this is bad" and "well, that's what happens in prisons, regardless of innocence and guilt and sense". Of course, the second attitude shows my deep sense of apathy, but at least it doesn't require me to think too deeply. I'm going to check the news soon, see if it HAS been mentioned in the American news much. I suspect it hasn't, but I like to make sure.

And to keep you guys from getting too cheery, everybody's heard about what happened in Madrid by now, so let's turn to more traditional bombings and attacks, like the recent ones in Israel. Israel blames the Palestinian Authority for not doing anything to stop terrorism, but it seems to me that Israel isn't helping much at all. People in Nigeria are pushing for harsher enforcement of sharia law, so we can expect to see more stonings, more petitions, more orphans and the like. In this country, we've got a Florida man convicted for raping a nine-month old baby, which fucking makes me sick. And I want to go into the woods, someplace far from here, and sleep. Maybe I can dream me up some sensible people.

WTF is a soul anyway?

I've asked this before, and I'll likely ask it again. What is it? Everytime something even remotely philosophical comes up, people justify whatever they do by calling "soul!".

They eat meat because animals don't have souls.
They don't eat meat because animals do have souls.
They are anti-abortion because the soul exists from conception.
They aren't anti-abortion because the soul develops later.

Well, that's about it, but man, people shout loudly on those subjects. Soul this, soul that, and nobody ever stops to ask "what on earth is so important?" because they think they know. That's nice. I don't know, and would like to actually understand all these nifty little arguments about whether or not embryos and animals and whatnot have souls. Maybe even participate.

What is that? I can't even comment. I think I'm honestly going to cry. Forget Bush getting elected, if this thing passes, I'm out of here. Gone to Canada or Australia or England or ANYwhere. At that point, I'll want nothing to do with this country anymore, and I'd strongly advise my friends to do the same. This is just fucked up. Checks and balances exist to prevent this sort of nonsense.

Going outside today, I saw a van for an electrical company. The name?

Stargate Electrical.

I can think of a few uses for their services....
