Where they prove that paper toilet seat covers don't do anything.

Well, I already knew that. People generally don't get infectious diseases from bare, unbroken skin touching where other bare, unbroken skin has been. And bacteria don't hang out there.

So I also already knew that phones have more germs than toilet seats. Of *course* they do - your phone is near where your *mouth* is, and you cough and sneeze into the phone often, and you talk into it, and every time you open your mouth, you're spreading germs. Germs *like* the mouth and nose. It's a great place for them to both breed and spread from.

Shopping cart handles are supposed to be bad, too.
BUT, I will say this: I like using the covers because they help ameliorate the problem of creeps who teeter over the toilet when they pee, thinking they are gonna be able to aim like men, and spray the seat. I HATE THAT. Also, some toilets are not calibrated well and spray the seat with water when it's flushed, and I hate that, too. I just HATE having a damp seat for any reason, and the paper seat covers are very handy for wiping them down and then using another to actually cover the seat, in case you missed any. :-)

I hate that, too! Guess what, stupid people, the reason toilet seats are unsanitary is because they have your pee all over them. Gah.

At least people who put toilet paper on the seat actually sit down. The only people who widdle on the seats are the hoverers (or those who don't wipe well enough, i suppose). They are that which they hate! RAAAR.

I've read articles (to which the links are long gone) that show that in public bathrooms, the stall closest to the door is almost always the cleanest because people assume it will be the grossest and go for one farther on. I always try to get the first stall now. :)

I'm generally of the opinion that exposing myself to germs is good for my immune system, so unless it's visible nasty (or wet or sticky), I don't care anyway.
