Where they prove that paper toilet seat covers don't do anything.
Well, I already knew that. People generally don't get infectious diseases from bare, unbroken skin touching where other bare, unbroken skin has been. And bacteria don't hang out there.
So I also already knew that phones have more germs than toilet seats. Of *course* they do - your phone is near where your *mouth* is, and you cough and sneeze into the phone often, and you talk into it, and every time you open your mouth, you're spreading germs. Germs *like* the mouth and nose. It's a great place for them to both breed and spread from.

Date: 2006-02-19 09:48 pm (UTC)BUT, I will say this: I like using the covers because they help ameliorate the problem of creeps who teeter over the toilet when they pee, thinking they are gonna be able to aim like men, and spray the seat. I HATE THAT. Also, some toilets are not calibrated well and spray the seat with water when it's flushed, and I hate that, too. I just HATE having a damp seat for any reason, and the paper seat covers are very handy for wiping them down and then using another to actually cover the seat, in case you missed any. :-)
