Well, I already knew that. People generally don't get infectious diseases from bare, unbroken skin touching where other bare, unbroken skin has been. And bacteria don't hang out there.
So I also already knew that phones have more germs than toilet seats. Of *course* they do - your phone is near where your *mouth* is, and you cough and sneeze into the phone often, and you talk into it, and every time you open your mouth, you're spreading germs. Germs *like* the mouth and nose. It's a great place for them to both breed and spread from.
