Some people....
Jan. 18th, 2005 12:02 amI can understand wanting (and expecting) compensation if you have a permanent account. You paid for that. But listen closely: if you have a free or early adopter account, you did not pay for anything. You did not lose money for the time that LJ was down. Yes, it sucks, yes, I can see how you were distraught and traumatised - but you do not deserve compensation. YOU SPENT AND LOST NO MONEY.

Date: 2005-01-17 08:40 pm (UTC)But yes, it is stupid for the early adopters to expect it. Silly, silly people.
Oh I added you by the way. I notice you have a large friends list, so I'll understand if you don't add me back. I just did it because I like reading your journal through my friends page better.

Date: 2005-01-17 08:41 pm (UTC)(If no one else mops them up first, I'm tempted to work out my frustration at the compensation requests by writing a huge and beautiful and defeating-all-possible-retorts response. If I can think how to, at least; my whomps have never been Gunk-flavoured.)

Date: 2005-01-18 04:12 am (UTC)It never occured to me to expect it.
I wonder if that's because we don't have that thing here where you can sue over the silliest things(forget the right words right now)?

What, they want two weeks of 'paid' privileges for "compensation"?
They were distraught and traumatized? Seriously?

Date: 2005-01-18 02:30 pm (UTC)I take it most people want either money or free paid-account time.
It really is scary, but it's the kind of thing that if I don't laugh at it, I'll start crying.

Date: 2005-01-18 04:24 pm (UTC)You should demand that FCC Chairman Michael Powell compensate you, personally from his own pocket, for what you've suffered. That's the only way justice will be served.
(If nothing else, demand the he buy you a nipple ring of your own.)
