this sort of shit just isn't funny?

It wasn't funny when it started, and it sure as hell isn't funny now, years after the fact.

Find a new joke.
One that's relevant.

Hell, I'll even repeat my list.

Ways we know Bush is stupid:

His foreign policy is non-existant
He thinks people believe his lies (well....)
He thinks abstinence-only education works
Etc.

Things which DO NOT prove his stupidity:

He speaks with an accent (nuculer, al quader)
He has problems speaking (this could be a learning disability or a simple problem of poor verbal performance. We all do that)
He's clumsy (oh wow. He fell off a bike! He's an idiot! Along with everybody else who can't ride a bike! LOLOL!!!!11111)
We can find a funny picture that makes him look like a chimp (just stop insulting our friend, the chimp.)

See the difference?

Call me a horrible cultural elitist, but I want my president to be able to speak standard English correctly. And I want him to be able to communicate clearly, in complete sentences.

Perhaps not, but it does betray a certain lackadaisical attitude and a feeling that he can't be bothered to behave or speak like a head of state, let alone the head of the free world. So maybe that's arrogance rather than stupidity...unless that IS him trying to behave or speak like a head of state...

I completely agree with you there. It's really misguided, and actually fatal, for people to just make Bush an object of joke and derision. The power he has, what he chooses to do with it, and the effects of those choices are extremely serious, and to have most of the criticism of him consist of "Ha ha! He's a stupid buffoon!" is really irreponsible and dangerous. We don't take the power of our state seriously anymore -- everything is like a TV show to us. We think there's not going to be any real effects.

Many apologies for the extreme OTness of this post, but I am (strangely) fascinated by your user icon. Is it just me, or does it look very much like the head of a rooster? (The elbow as the beak, the red hair the rooster's comb, the green circle as the eye, the sweep of the waist and then skirt as the rooster's neck and upper body....) Was that done on purpose, or do I just have an odd imagination?

Definitely choice #2! I would love to see your answers on the inkblot tests.... ;)

I confess to being curious myself. ;) In fact, this inspired me to go take a psuedo-inkblot test online (from emode, I believe) and according to the results, my "subconcious mind is driven most by curiosity." Makes sense. :D I spent a good part of long car rides in my younger years annoying my more practical siblings by pointing out non-standard shapes in clouds. And by "younger" I mean 15 and 16, not 7 or 8. :D
