When good mnemonics... go bad.
Nov. 2nd, 2004 12:02 amMnemonics, when done properly, can help you remember things. Chanting "King Phillip Comes Over For Good Sex" can help you remember the order of classification: Kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species. Saying "King Phillip Can Order Fine Gold and Silver" will cause problems if you try to add an A word in there, but should be essentially fine.
It took me several years to memorize the order of the planets in our solar system (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and maybe Pluto) because somehow I memorized the sentence "My Very Energetic Mother Just Gave Us Nine Pizzas" where I should've said served. *sighs*
Yes. This was random.
