Well, I think it counts as charity - but then, I don't believe in G-d, so I think he may have bigger issues with me :)

i've seen people around spell god with a hyphen like that before, but i never understood why. will you explain it?

I've hung around too many Jewish people. It's a way of strictly following the commandment about taking the Lord's name in vain. I really don't give a, but it allows me to adopt a holier-than-thou attitude when talking to certain people... And it's a bad habit of mine, even when I'm talking to people I like/respect.
