I remember being in a chat room once and someone saying it was midnight Eastern standard time and someone else saying it was 3am where they were, just to see who would get it. I finally did process the information and ask, "wouldn't that put you in the middle of the ocean?"

It's not entirely related to what you wrote, I am bored and rambling girl today...
