Wow. Just... wow. I just... I can't... there's just no words. (And it gets worse when you consider that Iowa doesn't seem to have had any floods this year.)
I'm beginning to wonder if he's trying to lose. (We can only hope.) (Because some of the alternative explanations are pretty scary, because even if he loses he's in office until Jan. 20th)
I believe some federal funding is available to them now, yes. But it is ridiculous how hard it is to know that - I say this as a Californian who has seen the Trump admin play chicken with disaster funding several times already...
"Three Nobel Peace Prizes, different subjects." I find myself very curious to know what the other two were supposed to be. (I expect this error from my fourteen year olds but not a nominee!)
Headline: Two hundred people nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, see list on page 7." Or "Thunberg, Trump lose Nobel Peace Prize" just for the tantrum he'd throw about being listed as second to Thunberg.
Seriously, though, I know he's a teensy bit self-centered, but surely he can at least pretend to care about disasters affecting Iowa when speaking to Iowa voters. That's, like, basic.
I really don't think he can. A life of extreme privilege doesn't force one to develop the ability to care - or even pretend convincingly to care - about others. So he never has.
In retrospect, maybe the nobel committee should be like Marley's ghost and give prizes to people saying "you're making the same mistake I did inventing dynamite, turn away now" :(
They're still suffering effects from the flooding before. I think it was last year when large swaths the Midwest were underwater for ages, and it was destroying farming for those who were underwater and then also for those who had the rails and roads between them and market underwater.
