It's crunch time!

What's everybody making for Thanksgiving? Any new and exciting recipes? Or, alternatively, tried and true faves?

I'm gonna do a duck again. Jenn pointed out that the kids don't like duck, which is fair, but they also don't really like turkey and one way or another I'm cooking a bird. I might do a chicken too.

Obviously, I'm not doing Thanksgiving myself, but I have just been discussing multiple-stuffed roast birds over on Quora. Something you might want to try? If you do your own boning, it's nothing like as expensive as buying the ready-prepared ones.

The thing is that a turducken is quite a lot of bird for five people.

So don't do a turducken. When did I suggest for one moment that the outside bird might be a turkey???? That's quite a lot for thirty people, never mind five, and goose would have the same problem. Try duck, chicken (just some breasts will be enough), pheasant or partridge. Maybe make the chicken the outside bird, and pick a small one. Or if you want to go really small, try this.

Even that's a lot of bird for the approximately two people we'll actually have here on T-day. Nah, gonna make a duck, or maybe a chicken if I can't get a duck.
