Is this what being middle-aged feels like? You stop hearing the songs from your parents' youth, or today's youth, and start hearing your own youth again?

Determine the average age of your guests, and stock up on what they listened to in high school. Specifically, decade by decade.

That is in fact literally what is being done in grocery stores and bars: they're courting the population with the most discretionary income, which is people presently in their 40s and 50s. Which is why I keep hearing music from the mix tapes of my adolescence in stores.

Meh. I gotta get my groceries somewhere. If it must be someplace with music, it may as well be music that gives me the warm and fuzzies.
