I grabbed my kindle and Finn, ran down the stairs, grabbed Moonpie and the kids, headed to the basement. The warning was specifically for the North Shore, yikes, so I didn't make a trip up to rescue the cats, but happily, there was no tornado.

Once the warning cleared... there was another warning. I had no sooner gotten up to the landing when we all headed back down again. Poor Moonpie was panting, she was so scared :(

But again, no tornado, so we're all fine. Honestly, I knew something was up when I walked outside an hour earlier - I kept walking first through weirdly warm and muggy patches of air, then through weirdly cold and clammy patches of air.

konsectatrix: Lightning at night striking the far shore over otherwise calm water. (lightning on the bay.)

If it makes you feel any better, I tend to sleep through tornado warnings as well (also the actual tornado, apparently, if we're counting the small one that touched down about a mile and a half away or so).

I enjoy storms, but the level of atmospheric conditions that come with tornados and hurricanes make me freakin' miserable for hours (or days, if we're talking Sandy) beforehand.
