to write to her senators demanding they don't consider a vote for any SCOTUS nomination but Garland.

I've been slacking somewhat, and that's bad. Can somebody give me the updated list of the 1,652,374.5 things I'm supposed to write/call my congresscritters about? I've got all weekend to send these letters and make these calls.

Net Neutrality

Call your Representative and tell them to support the Congressional Resolution of Disapproval of the FCC's net neutrality repeal. ("Yes" on the Congressional Resolution Act (CRA) Resolution of Disapproval= undo the December 2017 net neutrality repeal).

This measure passed the Senate already 52-47. We are 40 votes short in the House for a discharge petition which would force a vote (since it takes a majority of the House, 218, to force a vote, getting the discharge petition means it will likely pass).

You can find out if your Rep has already co-sponsored the CRA or not here: https://www.battleforthenet.com/scoreboard/

I haven't got a list, but you can check 5calls.org for suggestions.

My most recent calls and emails have been Massachusetts-specific, like asking the governor to sign legislation that would stop our police handing off data to ICE, and require then to notify people they arrest of their rights with regard to ICE/Homeland Security. The last thing I asked Senator Warren for was to work to reunite the children and families ICE has separated.

Are you familiar with the webpage 5calls.org? You give them your zip code, they give you a range of possible things you might want to call about. Choose your poison, they tell you which reps to call, give you their phone number, and a handy dandy script. I don't usually follow the script, but it's useful for specific bill numbers and the like. I find it to be an invaluable resource and very easy to use.

I'm very annoyed that this nasty intestinal virus seems to have hit me RIGHT before our city's supposed to do this protest march thing. Sigh. I'll find something to donate to instead, I guess. One cannot march while trying to sprint to a bathroom every five minutes.

Also: I'm on the email lists for the ACLU, NAACP, and a few other organizations like that. They keep me updated on the things.

I like the Garland suggestion a LOT. It's an absolute travesty that Obama was held off from having that nomination approved. Reagan's Bork nomination started the whole thing, but really-- that man was a nut.
