I know, you're all "Celery? Blech, it tastes like nothing!"

But no, no, no! Apparently, celery can have a flavor. And a texture! It can be fun to eat! I'm not deranged. It's just that the stuff they sell in the supermarket is, apparently, bred for size and transport rather than taste. Well, what else is new.

CELERY. Growin' it. Just watch me.

I have never tasted watery celery. Celery should have a bit of a bite.

See, I find celery from the supermarket does have some bite, but it doesn't have anything nummy to back *up* that bnite and thus make it worthwhile. The CSA celery is almost anise-like it is so intense and it is a revelation of celeryness. :-)

Agreed. I didn't know what celery was supposed to be like until my CSA. I'd still like someone to combine the thickness of the store celery with the flavor of the CSA celery, though...

Certainly sounds like the celery I'm used to. No watery-ness or lack of flavour.

Once upon a time, I read somewhere that the Japanese don't like celery because it has too strong a flavor. I never understood that - until I bought some organic celery in the grocery story, and holy cow! That stuff packed a punch!

So yeah. Good luck with it!
