Okay, I'm setting up a pool. Pick a day, a charity*, and a price between $1 and $10. If he's ousted any day other than the one you picked, you donate your money to the winner's charity. The winner gets to keep their cash. (If he's ousted on a day nobody picked, everybody donate!)

And to ante up, I'll take Labor Day, $10, CityHarvest.

* We all reserve the right not to donate to charities we find morally offensive.

What constitutes "ousted"?

Okay, see, maybe it comes from being a medievalist, but this still seems pregnant with ambiguity.

Like, what if he is no longer in possession of the White House because he's decamped to NORAD, and somebody else (say Pence) declares themselves (or is declared by a military coup) to be the real legitimate president at the White House? What if we have a situation where more than one person is claiming, with some basis, to be president?

Or what if he's arrested and jailed? What does that do to his status as POTUS? (So it turns out a conviction and prison sentence don't disqualify someone as Mayor of Boston.) If he's hauled out of the White House in an orange jumper and escorted to Attica, but is still, nevertheless, POTUS, does that count? And if so, is it the day of sentencing, or the day the sentence begins?

Mostly I'm just procrastinating picking a date, but I figured I should share my pedantry.

...this was what I was gonna say, both in terms of the date and the charity!

Lemme be a little more optimistic, then. January 31st, 2019, National Immigration Law Center, $10.

My question, too (though I've no concrete idea why I picked July 4th of this year, either, and I second guessed myself on it, as well, because it actually hit me as occurring on July 3rd).

I've gotten really disheartened. "Grab her by the pussy" should have been the end of it. I'm not sure anything will oust him. I want to believe we'll vote in someone else at the end of his four year term, but with all the in-fighting on the left, I'm not even sure about that.

I guess I'm going with Jan 20, 2021, but I really hope I lose this bet and he's gone sooner.

I'll go with Planned Parenthood, because I think they're going to need all the support we can give them.

I love this! Now we're just picking one of the 365/6 days in a year, right, not specifying the actual year--correct? E.g., if I pick July 24, and he doesn't go on this July 24 but does on the next one, I'm good?

... I guess I'll go for July 24, $10, and my charity will be Nueva Esperanza's "El Arco Iris" after-school program for students in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

(I see everyone else picked a year as well, but I'm standing my ground and claiming my date for every year going forward!)

Do you know the joke about the difference between optimist, pessimist, and realist? The fist sees the light at the end of the tunnel. The second sees only the tunnel. The last sees the tunnel, the light, and the train.

July 4th. One dollar. My charity of choice: any GoFundme I find the day it comes true that looks worthy (as there are always so many of them; I favor helping people one-on-one over donating to charity, so I hope that's OK).

I assume there are some people who read you on one, but not the other :) Since the point of this post is for all readers to bet against all other readers it seemed only fair to live a comment where everyone can read it.
