I got new glasses today!
May. 11th, 2014 08:48 pmFINALLY.
I was so very worried I had measured my pupil distance wrong (65 mm, don't let me forget) but it seems I didn't. Everything is blazingly clear, you know how it is with new glasses. I think this prescription is slightly stronger than the old one, more importantly, my old lenses were fubared royally. Plus the eargrips were completely fucked up, I should take a picture and show you all. Plus, most importantly, there was entirely too much gunk trapped between the lenses and the frames and it was really gross. (How does one prevent that from happening in plastic frames without the ability to take them apart?)
I ordered them from coastal.com, which advertises the first pair free and also offers multi-month payment plans for non-free glasses, which, given what an expense they are, seems great to me! Of course they came with a case and a cloth (I have enough cases to last a lifetime, but let's not complain) and also a keychain screwdriver for repairs! I put it on my keys right away, I haven't seen anything so nifty since that time I accosted a woman in the ferry terminal to ask where she got her glasses cloth that attached to her bag.
