Oct. 15th, 2004 12:15 amI'm not sure which part of this upsets me more - the gay part, or the "he should have plastic surgery!" part.
Either way, I'm offended.
Note to self: Don't head back there for a while.

And then I saw this. It's the same exact thing!
( Cutted for length. Anyway, read the article first! )
Look, I'm not going to argue whether or not the implant is the right thing for any kid, or for this kid. I don't know enough about it. But at the very least, I should hope that parents make decisions based on the child's needs, and not on the needs of the parent. It's the exact same thing with autistic kids! A lot of parents, their needs come first. They need to hear their kid say s/he loves them, even if they really don't. They need to have a normal child at all costs, and that's just not right. It blinds them, they can't see if their needs are good for their kid. All they see is themselves.
If you're curious, Priya's entry is here.

Oct. 15th, 2004 01:25 pmOh look. Abortion rates increased during Bush's term. What a surprise.
What does this tell us? Economic policy and abortion are not separate issues; they form one moral imperative. Rhetoric is hollow, mere tinkling brass, without health care, health insurance, jobs, child care, and a living wage. Pro-life in deed, not merely in word, means we need policies that provide jobs and health insurance and support for prospective mothers.
More than that, I believe the Bible has injunctions to be charitable? Rich men and heaven and camels and needles?
I'm not anti-abortion. But I am against the things that make people feel forced into aborting.
Pro-choice. It's about choice.

I could scream.
Oct. 15th, 2004 02:50 pmWhen I call my mother, and explain that I need her to call somebody for me (I don't have the number) and she asks why I can't call him, and I say "well, I have no money, I used up my last money calling you", why does she think it's okay to email me later telling me to call her before leaving campus?
Edit: Sorry. I was stressed. Shouldn't've been so upset. *meeps and runs off*

A few complaints:
1. Not enough questions to be accurate, despite the obvious pretension that it's more than just a normal quiz.
2. *sighs* While I agree in the rights of privacy and choice, the fact is that they are not in the constitution. Therefore, it is wrong to call them "constitutional rights". Basics, people!
