conulyIf you're in the habit of posting things to your livejournal that you do NOT want another person to see or which are incriminating, make them friends only. This won't help if one of your "friends" shows them around to people while on his/her own livejournal, but it's useful for keeping specific people from your private business. This is an issue that's come up recently for a few of my friends, so I thought the warning would be good for everyone else.
Also, if you add a lot of people to your friends list (as I do), set up a friends filter. Don't make something friends only, make it only viewable to people in a specific category. Trust me, it's worth the effort to know that your sister can't read your comments bitching about her.
