Borders, as you know, is totally going out of business

This is unfortunate for them, but it's a reminder for the rest of us to support our local bookstores when possible. Borders isn't a great loss, but small bookshops, where they still exist, are real gems.

With that said, there's one very good thing about this closing, and that's Going Out of Business sales! Who can resist? (I wonder if I can snag some bookcases....)

Guess I should find one and use the $6 I have left on a Border's gift card. Unless they deducted a dollar a month like some other stores do. Then it'll be $0. That makes it easy.

Shops deduct a dollar a month on gift cards if you don't use them? Bloody hell, I'm glad they don't do that here. (Which reminds me, I have a £1 gift voucher that's at least five years old I really ought to use...)
