So, Ana's lips are ridiculously chapped.

[Poll #1327895]

And a very, very, VERY random question: Why do pimples on or behind the ear hurt more than pimples anywhere else? What's up with that?

I've always wondered about the pimple thing too. And of course they also hurt the worst when they're not ready to be popped yet.

I would if it were nowhere near the ear canal, I think. I might try that some time.

Lip balm, but sometimes I will say chapstick (that's the spelling in my head) and am okay with either. Although I am less likely to say lip balm or anything balm if in an airport as I don't want to risk an unfortunate mishearing and will say chapstick in those circumstances.

I'm the same way. "Chap stick" is generic to me, regardless of its proper use, and I'm somewhat more likely to say it. "Lip balm" is more correct, but I only occasionally say it. Like with the infamous "pop/soda/coke?" question, I tend to go for a more specific term, as in my Burt's Bees stick. :-)

Chapstick, as was said above.

And I'm very picky about my chapstick. I only use Blistex Complete Moisture. ;-)

when we were little, we called it "lip chap" instead of "chapstick" or other terms.

I also call it lippy. I don't like brand overextension. (Is that a real phrase? That's what I call using a brand name for a product, especially when not of that brand.)

You mean like "Ziploc" for any zip-closing baggie, or "Velcro"?

Yes, but I must admit that I didn't know Velcro was a brand.

I call it chapstick if it's in stick form, lip balm if it's in a pot.
