And a very, very, VERY random question: Why do pimples on or behind the ear hurt more than pimples anywhere else? What's up with that?

I've always wondered about the pimple thing too. And of course they also hurt the worst when they're not ready to be popped yet.

Yeah, screw that. I sterilize a needle and run to my mom. Pop this please? They seem to drain faster than if I "wait for them to develop a head". (Not, of course, if it were inside the ear - but knock on wood it won't happen.)

I would if it were nowhere near the ear canal, I think. I might try that some time.

Unless it's safely behind the ear or something, make sure you get a friend (who isn't grossed out easily) to do it for you. Just for sense's sake.

It's marginally less painful than squeezing the everloving crap out of it, and I suspect it doesn't send the bacteria quite as far back into the pore.

A hot compress a few times a day will work wonders as well. You can use a wet washcloth, a teabag, and, of course, WonderWarmers! (They really *do* have to get to work on making earmuffs.)
