Today's haiku

[conuly]

Sand pouring downwards
Tick, tock, hours drift away
Was the day wasted?

*coughs*

I did stuff. Really!

I think my haiku(s) are getting better. What say you?

I quite like this haiku. I like ones that have separate thoughts on each line, rather than breaking up one thought onto two lines.

And you do seem to be improving, so maybe there is something behind this NaHaWriMo idea. ^_~

The important rule of haiku, I was taught, is not the syllable rule, but the fact that each line is a complete thought. No sentences that pass from one line to another, that's free verse.

I'm surprised I'm taking this so seriously. I'd intended it as just a throwaway joke!
