That whole "0 comments" thing is so clunky. It just confuses new people, and it makes it hard to see if an entry has screened comments on it. Sure, I can use the recent comments page, but if you get a lot of comments, and have a free account, that's not very useful.
So I finally got off my arse (metaphorically speaking) and sat down to send in a suggestion to the aptly named
suggestions community about it.
Just in time, too, because now I have a new complaint. Why does the most recent comments page indicate in no way when comments aren't in reply to the main journal entry? I mean, it does, but only if the parent comment has a title on it. So I'm everlastingly responding to comments that weren't directed at me, and it's embarassing.
And no, the solution isn't for everyone to put a title on their comments. That's silly, and a bit ugly, since every reply to that comment, or to comments replying to that comment, will say re: something or other, and I don't like that.

Date: 2005-06-28 10:37 pm (UTC)I was thinking (assuming you got comments in your email) "Connie, what's going on? That was to someone else!" But ah, if you use the recent comments page, I can see how you would make that mistake a lot.
At least in this case, I noticed you'd deleted your comment and so I deleted my reply to it.
I'm going to go check out the suggestion box now.
