You can't be president if either your parent or your sibling was president before you.

I mean, if we can randomly prevent every non-native-born citizen from becoming president, surely we can prevent a dynasty of idiots from arising, right? That's not very different from the argument against serving more than two terms, is it?

FDR served for three terms, didn't he? And yet, now he would be unable, by the Constitution, to do that.

Four, I believe, and I have to admit, my American history on that period is bad, but I honestly don't know what prompted that resolution, other than to prevent someone from basically becoming a "dictator-for-life". I mean, AFAIK, he was a really well-liked president.

I have always viewed that requirement of the Constitution to be unjust. I don't want Arnie to run for president, but I'd be glad to see it gone.

Among some people, sure. But others... never liked him. He was more controversial than we like to remember.

As for the second, the why is "because it's fucking stupid". So, your parents were travelling when you were born, you can't be president? So, you were adopted, you can't be president? But if you were born here, and then spent your life from age 5 - 30 out of the country, you can come home and legally be elected? What does "being born here" have to do with anything of value?
