Despite my shortage of CDs (not that short a shortage, I just don't know where they are, and they're all my mom's anyway), I do have a lot of tapes. Which I haven't listened to since my tape player disappeared or died or whatever it did.

Is there a way (even an expensive way, since I'm just being all theoretical here) to transfer tapes to CD?

Easy

All you need is a tape deck (preferably a decent one) that has L/R audio output (the red and white cables), a converter cable to go into the computer, like <a href="http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3695196>so</a>, and audio recording software, for example Peak (Mac) or Adobe Audition (PC). I do it all the time and it's very easy once you get everything hooked up.
