Is it normal to feel like the non-dominant side of your body (the right side, in my case) isn't all there? Like the only real arm is the left arm, and that you're really just seeing out of the left eye? My right arm works fine, feels fine, same with the right eye, I see the same with both eyes, binocular vision, everything, but I often can't shake the feeling that the right side isn't there.

This is a long-term thing, not a sudden fear. Just a puzzlement.

I don't know that it's normal, but I've experienced that at various times, all my life. Like a few days here, a few days there. It's not an every day every week every month thing, but it does happen with regularity.

So now I'm curious, too. I wonder what it is.

Mine isn't that it's not there, just that it's not "as capable" on my upper left body...I'm right handed, but I've noticed that on a few things (like decidedly last night while copying/hole-punching/notebooking music sheets for my mom) I do better with my left. Usually I'm pretty good at "training" my left hand to do something, other times I do it without thinking. I steer cars (partially because I'm used to driving a stick-shift) and ride horses mostly left-handed. Fine detail, though? It's VERY sloppy left-handed, but doable.

Have you talked to a doctor about this? Is there actual loss of mobility?

Are you left-handed?

Well, if you ever see a doctor for a regular checkup, you could mention it to them, maybe.

I don't experience that with limbs, but it happens with my left eye.. The vision in it isn't so good and I had to wear a patch on my right eye when I was younger to try and make it better, but even now I tend to look at stuff with my right eye (can't read with my left eye either).. Although I do see with both of them.

At least I'm not like my parents, neither of them have depth perception. I wonder if that'll happen to me too, though.

I occasionally feel like my right eye is doing all the work of looking. Sometimes feel like my arms, in general, aren't really under my control, but not one arm more than the other.

Just not there....but...

It is not only not normal it can indicate problems. They may not all be physical. Some people 'disassociate' from some of their body parts. If it happened in childhood it could be psych trauma. Since you say your tactile and heat cold sensations are all in tact. As well as motor skills. Functional disassociation of a part or entire bodies feel like what you discribe.
Next time you go for a check up or an er visit mention it. It could also indicate a deterioration of nerve endings and need to be attended to..
Good Luck* ( newbie here ..so Hey* Hi)

That strikes me as incredibly bizarre and would make me wonder about neurological issues. But on the other hand, I'm not sure I have a dominant side. I seem to be fairly ambidextrous. Or possibly left-handed forced to be right-handed. So, if this effect were more common, I might have missed it because of my bizarre handedness.
