Why *is* shiny a good thing? Why not matte?
And why do people have "plot bunnies"? Why not plot armadillos?
And why on earth do people squee? Why not... something else?

Because shiny is pretty and eyecatching and distracting and oooohhhh....

"Squee" is pure onomatopoeia.

I don't know about the bunnies. *hides from the bunnies*

Because bunnies are cute. >.> And it sounds better than "plot geckos"

I squee, but I also wibble. :D

*tilts* I think I prefer plot geckos, actually.

My plotthings move a bit slowly. They might be tortoises. I am sure that Goddess Ursula Vernon gets plotwombats.

Plot bunnies area fanfic thing, I guess. I thought they were related to dust bunnies. Dust bunnies, multiplying as they do underneath the dresser where I don't see them until they make themselves known is much more like what happens to plot inspiration in my head than bunnies boinking each other like, well, bunnies.

In NaNoWriMo, there's plot ninjas, which refer to the inspiration that sneaks up on you and pounces with an idea so strange and wonderful you have to use it, even if it makes no sense.

People have plot bunnies because of John Steinbeck (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/j/johnsteinb121626.html). In discussing writing ideas, he said, "Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen." :D Thus the attack of the Plot Bunnies!

As for the Oooh! Shiny!! goodness, I don't know other than... *spies Anakin's lightsaber* Ooooh! *wanders away*
