Don't give in to the hype! I can guarantee you, your family does NOT need the most expensive presents.

See? BND.

Okay. I've been psuedo-political today. Met my quota and all. I guess I can go out and buy that toilet paper now. I mean, I'd like not to, but this is kinda... different.

I was actually handed pamphlets about BND from my good buddy Josh. I wasn't gonna anyway, I swear! This year I am going to try to boycott Christmas.

I'm not buying shit today. I'm around enough people all day at work. Screw that. It's my day off, I'm staying home.

I'll never be allowed to actually boycott, heh.

I've been telling my mom that she doesn't need to get me any presents, instead, we should just take a trip together or something, which would be more in the holiday spirit of spending time with friends and family, I think. And though she always verbally agrees, she still buys presents, and then I have to ...

Everyone gets artwork from me this year! The stress of having to buy something expensive/exciting is just too much. :)

Funnily enough I did wander around the city centre idly attempting to shop earlier (and buying something for my mother that I've had my eye on for about two months.) But of course here's here not there ;0)

I've personally been a supporter of moderation during the holiday spending season, but unlike some fellow anarchists(who urge people to buy nothing and donate the money that they would have spent to laid off employees*), I personally believe that gift giving/receiving in moderation still has a part in the holidays.

*This also raises the(very interesting) question of how you can accurately tell how much you would have spent if you resolve to spend nothing.

Fortunately, I don't have money to spend anyway ;)

I will give it a shot! :) I'd prefer a dinner together or time spent hanging out to presents, I'll see if it works.

In honor of Buy Nothing Day, we aren't even leaving the house.

The other best thing about no thanksgiving is no thanksgiving sales.
