I've been putting this off forever since it's such an event, but I'm down to one. And it's getting stretched out.

It'd be great if I could just buy bras, like, in a store, but no. I need to wear cotton, or mostly cotton (true. When I buy any clothes, before I consider fit I consider fabric), and no lace. Do you know how hard that is to find?

*screams*

I'd put a TMI warning on this, but I don't think it really merits it.

I don't blame you. Lacy bras are itchy! I can't stand them.

Anyone freaks out over a discussion of bras has more problems than an LJ-cut will fix. :D

And yeah, they are a bitch, aren't they? I don't mind fabric much, but seams right down the middle of the cups? ARGH. Way to irritate THE most sensitive spot...

I had a bra dilemma too a while ago, but luckily someone recommended Kohl's, which has a lovely selection of cheap underwireless bras. But I enjoy non-cotton fabrics, so that wasn't an issue. They did have plenty of cheap cotton, though.

I'm sympathetic. I can't stand lace or tags, or anything else that isn't completely soft. I also HATE shopping for *anything*, but I especially hate going into lingerie stores or departments. Those places, and the people who work there, give me the creeps. I always buy my bras second hand, even though it's more work to find exactly the right size, because thrift and consignment stores are so much easier for me to breathe in. Consequently, I never have enough bras. All the ones I have are falling apart. :<

I'd like to just, you know, walk into a store and buy a bra as well. I'm much less picky about the content, just so long as the lace doesn't itch, but most places only carry up to a DD/E cup.

I take an EE/F cup. $40 for a bra is not something I can afford every day, and then you have to order it from some obscure internet-or-catalogue-based company and hope that their band sizes are given in inches, not centimeters.

Bra shopping sucks ass. Mine are only purchased at Lane Bryant which cuts down on the difficulty a bit.

Lace on bras is really frelling annoying. I don't care what my bra looks like as long as it's comfortable. No one else is going to see it, except maybe my boyfriend, and he doesn't care what it looks like either.

I know what you mean about finding lacy bras itchy. Finding bras is such a pain, I'm 16D and getting one that actually fits properly is a mission - they all stretch horribly :P

I don't worry so much about whether they're cotton, but it's a very rare lacy bra that I can actually wear. The bigger problem is that I have a sensitivity to metal.. I can't even wear metal watchbands...so underwires are not fun. Some of them are actually plastic, those are ok, but the labels never say which are which. I just gave up entirely and went over to sportsbras for nearly all purposes the last time an underwire managed to poke it's way out of the fabric. "It slices, it dices, and it gives me a nasty case of hives..."

Hooray for sportsbras! They are also the only kind I wear. Also makes buying them fairly easy. "Just give me a couple of large ones." Hehe.

The best place to get bras is, without a doubt, Title 9 Sports (http://www.title9sports.com/jump.jsp?itemID=0&itemType=HOME_PAGE). Every product is rated, there's stuff for people who are allergic to (pick a substance), and a WIDE range of sizes. Not all are for sports - but the sports bras ROCK; and not everything is bras. But the seclection, I repeat, ROCKS.

I can only wear cotton next to my skin. Oh wait, that's not 100% true, my wife made me a sweater out of merino wool that's just yummy.

I'm not suggesting woolen bras however :)
