First, she wants us to credit her when sharing information from an anonymous chain letter. Note she says nothing about humor, it's all "enjoy knowing where the phrases came from!"

Then, because we had the nerve to explain that these aren't true we're accused of being anal retentive. Now she's saying we should've just enjoyed the jokes.

Whatever.

At least it's an excuse to use my Daniel icon.

It drives me nuts that these legends get spread around. I don't know why it bothers me so much, except maybe just the idea of more and more people being misinformed. My European History teacher used to tell us similar stories, many of which I later discovered weren't true, and I felt cheated.

Also, credit? What? o_O

I love making up weird medical "facts" that *seem* like they could be true. But have no actual basis in anything except they seem like they might be true.

Anyone with an ounce of sense should know to actually see a doctor if any of my "facts" come into play.

Tell me again why inaccurate information is funny?

Oooh, and now you should be nice to her because she's bipolar and therefore not responsible for her actions. *facepalm*

And if she knew they were fake and expected everyone else to accept that they were fake, what was that about "spreading the knowledge", eh?

And I learned when I was very young that "mind your Ps and Qs" was from setting type, where a p looks like a q and vice versa, since they're mirrored on the blocks. I always thought that made more sense. But I probably learned that story because my parents are in publishing.

I'd comment on linguaphiles, since I am a member (and thank you for the recommendation), but I'd rather avoid that chick for now. ^_~

Argh. It's gone - I missed it. I just hate that!! Things shouldn't be delete-able until I have seen them!! ;-)
