Is it just me, or have we been getting a lot of unfunny metaquotes lately?

And stupidly offensive ones, too. At least, *I* think so. Maybe it's just me.

I love the idea of crack babies. Not eating them, just them existing. It's incredible that someone less than an hour old can have as great of an addiction problem as some guy named Jamaal in Highland Park.

I wonder if people here would be complaining if the post had read with the name Hans or Sven. Just because it used the name Jamaal as an example doesn't mean that they're out to get black people

So what, exactly, does it mean? Why say "some guy named ANYTHING", much less give a very race-marked name unless you mean to denigrate a group of people?

I think that's why the LJ-cut is there.

What, so people can get away with 1. stupidity and 2. wasting my precious time by posting incredibly unfunny quotes?

metaquotes has sucked increasingly since it got popular beyond the immediate fen/geeks circle, IMNITLHO. This time next year we'll be seeing "LOL!!!!Z@!!1 CHEESE!!!!11111" shit.

Not-In-The-Least-Humble. :D

Nah, there's already a pile of spinoffs and nobody USES them, is the thing. If I could make [livejournal.com profile] juvenilestupidquotes and convince everyone to post those there, I would....

I've taken metaquotes off my main Friends filter, because it mostly sucks. I've made a lot of Friends by being quoted (a couple of times) but despite my wish to be loyal to the concept, the standard has become very low.

The racism doesn't surprise me. What a fucking moron that person sounds anyway.

I agree with you too. I've had metaquotes on my friends list for only a month, and already I'm considering taking it off again. They do have some great quotes there every now and then, but I'm not sure if it's worth having to wade through several pages of unfunny nonsense every day.
