This is the last mending they'll take, and I'm not sure how long it'll hold. I've ordered a new pair, and on the one hand I know $100 is cheap - especially for my prescription! - but on the other hand, I didn't want to spend it. And I didn't exactly love my choice of frames, either, but they were inexpensive and fit my pupil distance, so I'll live with them.

(Though, looking on the website, it seems glow in the dark frames are an option!? I would never, sounds like a real visual annoyance, but man, so much respect for anybody who goes in that direction!)

Terry Prattchet covered analogue hackers in Going Postal. It amuses me that the real world had a version of that!

I could picture that being a thing among those who go to raves. I wonder how they'd look under black light.

That would be a logical deduction yeah...

You know, now that I think of it, PTerry and Doyle had a lot in common actually. They both were information hoarders. Doyle had his periodicals, Terry had the internet but they'd both file away snippets of information for later use. or in Terry's case, to also dominate at Trivial Pursuit! (I heard stories, he was legendary on the Con circuit for it.)

You know that some optical stores can do acetone welding on acetate frames, right? I fixed a pair like that and they lasted another 7 years before breaking again at the same spot. I tried to get them welded again but it didn't work well from that small shop near me. I'm soon going for attempt #2 at a different shop that was recommended to me.

I'm just sharing information... Anyway for me the repair is cheaper than buying another spare, and I do need a spare pair or two for protesting because cops love busting glasses when they get the opportunity.
