I swear, once I get a job

(and we've dug ourselves out of this hole) I'm putting as much as I can every paycheck towards eye surgery. I don't even want eye surgery, it sounds scarier than dental work, but at 43 I think I have to accept reality: I am never going to learn to reliably put my glasses somewhere they won't break and I won't lose them.

Date: 2025-05-03 01:55 am (UTC)I don't know if this would help, but I'm always getting a glasses case, and doing my best to keep them in the same place each time. A nightstand, a spot on the laptop, etc.
Would that help? The "same spot" doesn't have to be right next to the bed, as long as it's someplace stable.

Date: 2025-05-04 06:23 pm (UTC)I wish i could get the surgery but I've 3 strikes against it
Date: 2025-05-07 04:09 am (UTC)2: My grandfather was one of the first people to get cataract surgery - it was still experimental and they learned don't leave the laser on that long. Pity they did it in both eyes.
3: My brother has a detached retina that needs repeated treatment so I worry that might cause problems with my getting the surgery.
But I DO want it. Despite how all prior surgeries have left me worse every time. One eye is near sighted and the other is astigmatism.
