and we're in for our customary three days of rain. Never fails, does it. Well, rain I don't mind, and wind, just so long as the storm itself fizzles before it hits us.

Speaking of which, I never pay enough attention, but isn't September a little early to already be on O?

Yup, on average it's time for the 10th named storm. Good stats at http://tropical.atmos.colostate.edu/Realtime/ Many of the storms have have stayed out at sea, so that's been good.

My youngest, whose birthday was the 18th, was born during a hurricane with an I. So yeah, we made it all the way to O, but I think it's been a lot of named Tropical Storms? I should go look up the stats. Living inland now, I don't follow the season as closely.

just a little, yeah

like, it happened in 1995, but Opal wasn't named till later in the month and wasn't a hurricane until October, and the 1995 season was unusually active, I had to check Wiki to make sure I was remembering the dates correctly and almost the first thing the Hurricane Opal page says is 1995 was unusually active
