Speaking of large, grumpy, semi-feral beasts, I've been relistening to Wolf 359 here. The Plant Monster is a lot like Sebastian, except that I wouldn't do to him what happened to it. Alas, poor Plant Monster...! But if ever there was a character suited for a fix-it fic where it doesn't die, it's the Plant Monster. Because it's a freaking plant! Something, something, retcon, retcon - et voila, turns out that Plant Monsters regrow themselves from even a tiny portion, just like, idk, kudzu or something, but more sympathetic and possibly telepathic? That was never really explained or elaborated on, but a small amount of sympathetic telepathy and a large amount of absurdly spacious air vents, like, who the heck designed this place, would keep it safe and sound from the interlopers until it was time for the daring, last-episode escape.
