You know what?
Nov. 9th, 2020 01:57 amI think the very best part of the past few days has been watching Rupert Murdoch's news empire turn against Trump. Fox News shutting down baseless claims of widespread fraud was a beautiful, beautiful thing to witness.
Oh, I don't believe this shows any more scruples than they had before - I'd compare this behavior to the proverbial rat leaving a sinking ship, except that rats are known to be friendly, social animals that feel empathy for the plight of their fellow rat and will free other rats from cages to share their food, and I don't want to insult such noble animals.
But look at it from this angle: Trump is going to lose some of his supporters, the ones that haven't long since moved to straight-up conspiracy providers like Alex Jones, and in the meantime, Fox News might just lose some money. That's what I call a win-win. And it is beautiful.
And you know what else? I find I don't care about their feelings either.
