Also, I somehow managed to miss the equinox. Time to start sitting in front of my sunlamp again. Do I need to change the bulbs on this ever? Is that a thing you need to do?

My recollection when I looked into this is that over the first few years there's a relatively dramatic drop in lumens, that then flattens out (more or less). My conclusion was that I would keep using my ten year old lamp. When we moved to NC, I replaced the whole lamp over risking breakage on the cross country move.

So- if you have been happy with the lamp after over three years you might be fine without replacing bulbs.
