The time is not exactly synced to my computer. There's a two minute difference, and this bothers me.

But on to the problem I hopefully can solve: is there an adblocker that works on iphones for youtube in the app? And how do I enable it?

I doubt it, though you might have better chances finding an adblock that works on the mobile app from iEcosystem than I do from Android 🙁

It's not quite a proper adblock, but at least for YouTube, there's things like Newpipe that gets you all the video and audio goodness without the ads. Adblocking for the mobile browsers on Android is more difficult for some since installing extensions is much harder, but some of them theoretically have adblock built into them.

Aigh. I'm sure some of that is who is buying ad space, but I think this might be one of those situations where the algorithm, in its quest to get you to engage with the ads, is reminding us that "engagement" can mean both like and hate.

how is your computer synching time? If it's just the built-in windows thing, there can be substantial time drift since (as I recall) it only synchs things up once a week (if that).

These days the time on a cell phone is likely to be properly synched from the get-go.

Yes, don't cell phones sync regularly from the nearest cell tower?

Chances are it's your PC that's drifted, computer clocks are notorious for drift. Cell towers have to maintain extremely accurate time settings or the entire system collapses. Your best bet is to have your PC clock sync to NIST.

This is a pretty good guide, but change the server to time.nist.gov.

I don't have an iProduct to know with certainty. Some cursory looking suggests most adblocks are browser-based, which isn't what you want, and the other ones are custom apps that you would have to sideload onto your device once a week or so if you don't want to fully jailbreak it. And that might still ask for money for themselves to remove their own ads, joy.

It might be possible, with the right adblock that has possible proxy settings to get it done, but much of what I've found scratching the surface is custom apps or watching on the browser.
