I was going to watch the BSC series with the kids

but that didn't happen today, so instead, in the spirit of nostalgia, Eva and I watched the first two MacDonald Hall movies on Netflix. If I'd wanted to watch something where they paid good money for good dialogue I'd've been disappointed, but I didn't and so was perfectly satisfied and we'll see the third tomorrow. I'm just annoyed they didn't bother to do all the books.

Of course, as a long-time reader of that series I know that Bruno and Boots are madly in love, just possibly a bit in denial about their feelings and filled with a mutual conviction that the other one isn't interested... and I'm wondering if maaaaaybe the script writers here don't understand that.

I saw a couple of those without the context of the books (with a fan in tow), and I can see how they would have been much improved if Bruno and Boots could talk about their feelings for each other.
