puy or green lentils
5oz stock
couple of table spoons of balsamic vinegar
400g can of tomatoes
fresh thyme
Fry the garlic, onion and carrot until the onion is soft. add the lentils, stir, add the stock, add the tomatoes and thyme, and cook till the lentils are edible. Stir in the balsamic vinegar right at the end.

Date: 2019-11-15 07:52 pm (UTC)I don't know if you have one, but an electric grill might actually be easier than a stovetop - and I mention that because I used to cook steaks ON the stove, before we got an electric grill, and my stovetop attempts were usually pretty bad.
(And some water in the bottom flat plate of the electric grill cuts down significantly on the smoke level.)
