Secrets and Lies in the School Cafeteria I'm amused that I figured out what was going on from the first paragraph, since one of the women involved never took a day off work - one of my partners is a forensic accountant who has done lots of fraud investigation, and that's a classic sign - people who never take a day off work usually have a very good reason for doing so, like worrying that a temp might notice all the money they're stealing.

My “citation” is your own quote, which you don’t seem to recognize when goodthink is replaced verbatim with crimethink, when Correct race hatred is replaced by unCorrect.  Prejudice is not equality.  Neither is preference.  Enabling race hatred of any kind is not “progress towards racial/ethnic equality” unless you have a peculiar Humpty Dumpty definition of the term, where some are more equal than others.

We are very vigilant about allergies here. Last summer (or the one before?) a girl died at a sandwich chain store because there was a type of seed in it that isn't on our expansive list. The parents sued and there is ongoing debate to make our controls even more stringent. Every eatery here basically warns they can't promise there is no cross contamination whether that is for allergies for between vegan and non-vegan meals. More than that though, countries have faced many devastating outbreaks of various things due to food over the centuries so that makes us cautious in the old world.
