i don't like futuristic themes...

So, if this is the case, why the hell did you order a book about a girl in the future finding out that her utopian paradise (no crime! because people have chips!) hides a rotten, dystopian core (no free will! because people have chips!)?

WTF? Some people really appear to have no functioning common sense. What book was it?

Ultraviolet bird photography! \o/

That article about the Antarctic Peninsula is fascinating and distressing. Poor penguins.

I admit to being sour about this guy's 'traditional knowledge' being one generation long and getting a bunch of respect when that is ..not the case.. with so many other actually traditional items of knowledge. *sigh* I think I know what they mean, but being aggravated with their phrasing isn't helping at all.

I don't get people who get books not in their genre either.

Even when I read outside my genre and still realize I don't like it I don't rate 1 star. I only do that if it's really that badly written and gibberish. My base level is usually 3. Written well but not my personal favorite for plots. Four is my average. Good writing good plot. Five is reserved for when my world is changed lol.

That is... one weird one-star review.

One star reviews are the best. I always read those first. I particular love the ones where they're not actually rating the thing they bought (which they love!) but some other random thing, like the fact that their package was left on their doorstep where anyone could have grabbed it, or the CD or DVD case was cracked, or something. And then there are the people who seem confused re: how star ratings work, and must think one star is the TOP rating because they rate it one star and then write a glowing review. Or the people who've not actually read/listened to/watched the thing they're reviewing, but gave it one star because it sounds stupid (the plot), or they hate the lead actor, or whatever.
