My neighbor, the not-crazy-cat-lady, has told me to switch to getting pet supplies via Chewy

And I went ehhhh, because inertia, right?

But I gotta admit, I can't imagine Jeff Bezos sending me a condolence bouquet. (That's something else he can do with his billions and billions, pay off people's funerals and send flowers to their loved ones!)

If their prices are comparable and they offer the same really stinky fish treat the dogs love, I might switch after all.

I've been ordering my cat litter from Chewy because they actually have it, reliably - and in the quantities I tend to order it in, the shipping is free.

No schleping it from the store shelves into the shopping cart, then from the cart into the car, then from the car into the house. I just have to schlep it from the door to the house. Much easier on my back. :)

Compared to my local vet, Chewy's prices for elder kitty's prescription diet food is actually slightly higher. (My local vet doesn't gouge its customers.) So, be sure you know your prices so you can truly comparison shop. Also, elder kitty is to that point where I'm only buying 4 cans of wet to supplement her dry food per month. You can't order individual cans on Chewy, only whole cases.

I cancelled an order for Hermione's Rx meds when she was diagnosed with cancer, because after that, she could eat whatever the hell she wanted. I was a little too late and the shipment went out anyway. Chewy refunded me the money and suggested I donate the case of expensive Rx food to an animal shelter.

Chewy is the BEST. Especially on Rx food, much cheaper than the vet's office.

I buy nice pet food that I can't get close by - no food coloring, real meat, all that jazz. I'm willing to pay a higher price if I don't have to lug 16 pounds of dog food home from Manhattan on my back.

Now, try not doing all that when you don't even have a car. I don't even care if the shipping is free so long as I'm not the one lugging it!

I need to look into Chewy for our cat stuff, but we only have the one cat so idk haha.
