My mother saw her doctor yesterday

The pulmonologist, I mean, the Dutch one. Apparently he's from Friesland specifically. When Mommy told this to Ana, I said, of course, that "Bread, butter, and green cheese is good English and good Fries".

Mommy: Why, that's exactly what he said!
Me: Yes, if you don't consider Scots an independent language then Frisian is the closest language to English. Of course, if you do, then it's Scots.
Mommy: That's exactly what he said too!

My mother went up two flights of stairs without getting winded, and I guess they had to talk about something on the way up and down. (She did it pretty quickly, too, especially without her cane!)

They don't have an army or navy of their own, but then, I guess neither do the Frisian speakers, so.

In her daily life, not if she can avoid it. This was a medical test to see if she could go up and down stairs without getting winded.

I had heard of Friesian horses before, but not the Frisian language, so I've learned several new things here :)

The West Frisian word for horse is apparently happe, so no luck cramming it into my "gosh, they're so similar!" sentence.
